Clear planning fees, no surprises

You should know what to expect before you begin. Hakuna MaTravels has been planning trips since 2018, building a customized itinerary for each and every family we work with. Some trips include a planning fee for the time and knowledge that work takes; many can be planned at no additional cost. Here’s exactly how it works.

When a planning fee applies

As of May 20, 2026, certain trips include a planning fee. It reflects the research, comparison, booking, and behind-the-scenes coordination that go into a smooth vacation — much of which happens after the trip is already booked. For many destinations our support comes at no added cost. We’ll always tell you which applies to your trip before you commit.

Disney vacations — $200 planning fee

All Disney vacations include a $200 planning fee — Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, and Adventures by Disney. There are many stages to planning a Disney vacation, and a lot of them continue well after the package is booked. The fee covers that ongoing work.

Other trips — often no added cost

Most Caribbean destinations and Universal vacation packages are planned at no additional cost, determined by the agency on a case-by-case basis. We’ll confirm before any planning begins.

Additional service fees

  • Travel booked within 30 days of departure: $100 rush fee.
  • Theme park tickets purchased on their own: ticket-only purchase fee (varies by party size).
  • Airfare booking: $30 per person.

Discounts for loyal travelers

We truly appreciate the clients who value our work and come back trip after trip. Planning fee discounts may be offered for repeat clients, top referring clients, and multiple-room bookings, decided at the agency’s discretion.

Terms and policy

Payment is accepted securely through Square on our Make a Payment page and is due when you select your final quote. The planning fee is collected in addition to the standard trip deposit at the time of booking.

The planning fee is non-refundable. If you need to reschedule, your fee may be transferred to new travel dates one time at no charge. Any subsequent date changes may be subject to a $50 modification fee. Pricing is subject to change at the agency’s discretion.

All planning services are based on availability at the time of booking and are subject to change. Hakuna MaTravels is not responsible for cancellations or disruptions to tours, activities, or dining reservations, or for any additional expenses arising from IT issues, travel delays, illness, weather, natural events, epidemics, strikes, or other circumstances beyond our control.

By submitting your planning fee, you authorize Hakuna MaTravels to begin reserving and planning your vacation, and you confirm your acceptance of the terms and conditions above.

Disney vacations are detailed and time-sensitive, with many planning stages that continue after booking. The fee reflects that work. Many other trips can be planned at no additional cost.
